Blog Description

This blog is used to document the process of a project done by 3 Carleton University students of the industrial design program. This project is govern by the IDES 4302 course program, instructed by professor Lorenzo Imbesi.

Project objectives:
To practice various methodologies in design research related to the topics of the urban forest within a farmer's perspective.

Project Length: January-April 25th 2010

Our basic approach at the moment is to synthesize the concept of the urban and the rural farmer. Currently, we are gathering information about typical farming behaviours in rural areas and have gathered that the "urban farmer" is generally one who maintains land and maintains animals. So we have been observing through videos and photographs city snow plowers, road salting tractors, snow shovellers, greenhouse maintenance workers, etc.
